The general design of the tool is similar to the Diebold 175-70 safe deposit pick with a couple of added components. Due to the small nose diameter of the lock (same footprint of the S&G 4440 lock) the pick is difficult to hold flat against the door during the picking process. We have solved this problem with an adjustable Delrin collar that fits over the pick body to stabilize it perfectly flat against the door for proper lever alignment of the pick. The Delrin collar supplied with the tool it can also be used on the Diebold 175-70 pick for the same purpose.

The second part included is renter keyway insert. This part is simply inserted into the renter keyway before the pick is installed. The purpose of this part is to support the manipulating tip during the picking process. The insert eliminates any flex of the manipulating tip while moving the levers up so the user has absolute control lifting the six levers. This lock only has six renter levers compared to the Diebold 175-70 which has seven layers.

Since this lock is key changeable, after picking the lock it can be reset to a new set of change keys without removing the lock from the door.
