These US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) registered alloys, when cleaned regularly, have been proven to kill 99.9% of infectious bacteria like e-coli, MRSA, Staph & VRE. It is not a coating, it's an all natural, solid copper based alloy that will last for the life of the product.
